Security in the Setting
Risk Assessments
As part of our mission to provide a safe and secure environment for your children to learn through play in we have detailed risk assessment in place which looks at all the risks in the playgroup environment and details on how we have minimised those risks to continue to effectively provide a safe learning environment.
As well as these, we undertake daily visual risk assessments continuously throughout the session, to help eliminate any risks that become apparent during your child's time at Stone with Woodford Playgroup.
Registering Children
Children are met at the door by staff and escorted into the setting. Staff register children when they enter and leave the setting.
Safe Collection of your Child
The setting uses passwords when someone other than a child's parent or carer is going to be collecting your child from the setting. The setting asks that parents or carers include a password on the child's registration forms. It is the parents responsibility to give this password to the person collecting your child as the setting will not release your child without it. This process ensures that your child is safe and going home with the correct person.
We ask that parents inform staff if another person is collecting their child either in the morning or by a telephone call or text to the playgroup leader.

Visitors
When visiting the setting, visitors must provide a form of identification, sign in and out on our visitor sheet. You may be asked to wear a visitors sticker, depending on the purpose of your visit.

Premises Security
Once parents have dropped off their child, staff close the outside and internal doors. The external doors are key entry only and are opened from the inside with a push bar. The setting has safety windows that open outwards and are lockable.
The outside play areas have bolted gates and children are always supervised when in these areas.
